Album of the Month

For December,

I am kinda pressed for time this month and being fresh from a B. Dylan concert I have been reaffirmed what George Harrison said about him. Almost as parsimoniously as a Beatle’s guitar solo George referred to Dylan repeatedly as “The Man”.

We should stuff that guy and give him a wing of the smithsonian (but like energy he won’t die). So just pick a Bob Dylan album. Make it one of the bootleg series. An American Original who figured out too late that that might not be what he wanted to be. Oh well, I might figure out one day that I didn’t want to be anything at all.

Here is the obligatory video. Charlie Sexton on lead is a treasure all of his own. True rock and roll guts exposed through six strings. He is from Austin and is on deck for his own album of the month. The honor he has no doubt been waiting for.

Previous Albums of the Month: Aug: McCartney 2 (Paul McCartney), Sep: Back in the High Life (Steve Winwood), Oct: Tom Verlaine (Tom Verlaine), Nov: Leave the Light On (Chris Smither),
